We are now in the run-up to Saturn’s station retrograde on the 18th February and during the next few days there are a couple of interesting aspects and shifts of energy to pay attention to that will colour the feeling of Saturn’s station. First of all Mars makes a sextile to Pluto tomorrow bringing the opportunity to try to make these energies work constructively together. Neither planet is particularly comfortable at the moment – Mars feels a bit out of his depth in watery Pisces, there are undercurrents he doesn’t really understand. Meanwhile Pluto in Capricorn doesn’t feel like his digging is as deep as he’d like – a bit like trying to plough over stony ground. Nevertheless, tomorrow offers and opportunity for both to work together, lend one another support and see that they are actually achieving something after all. So if you have been feeling like something hasn’t been working quite as well as you’d hope, or just feeling like something was a bit of an uphill struggle then tomorrow, 15th February, is a great day to feel a bit of a change and as though things are going your way.
On Saturday 16th Mars then makes a trine to Saturn – this continues the cooperative energy and could help you to feel as though you are actually achieving something tangible. Again, neither of the planets are feeling ‘at ease’ with themselves or with their surroundings – it’s all a bit watery, nebulous and emotional for practical Saturn and dynamic Mars, but Pluto in earthy Capricorn helps to ground them so ultimately this energy can work well and achieve something substantial.
Just before the Saturn station becomes exact the Sun enters Pisces, again emphasising the watery and emotional feel of the times. It’s good for dreams, visions, bring inspired – setting yourself long term goals, or even just tuning into the thoughts and feelings of others and seeing if there’s something you can do to work with them somehow.
And then Saturn makes his move and heads backwards – I write more about the significance of this in Saturn retrograde 2013.
