Continuing my fascination with this latest series of retrogrades and the ways asteroids are linking in so clearly and helping to tell the story…
Jupiter is now moving through the area where Venus was Rx earlier. He is currently on the June lunar eclipse degree and will soon move onto the transit degree. He is a month away from turning Rx which he does upon reaching the minor planet Chaos who is waiting for him just past that Venus transit degree.
Chaos, it seems, has more than a minor role to play in Jupiter’s Rx as not only is Chaos present with Jupiter as he turns Rx, he also moves Rx but much more slowly than Jupiter, only moving back onto the eclipse degree by the time Jupiter turns direct – at which point Lilith has joined Chaos.
Chaos continues to sit on the transit degree until Jupiter meets up with him again and finally leaves the shadow.
In Greek mythology Chaos was the dark, the abyss from which emerged all that exists beginning with the primal forces of Earth, Time, Desire and Bondage or Imprisonment. I have written before and elsewhere about Lilith’s role in this Jupiter Rx, Chaos appears to provide the missing link – I can’t help it, it makes me think of this (although personally my vision is far more hopeful and optimistic):
William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
THE SECOND COMING
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
From our own individual points of view it looks to me as though Jupiter’s encounters with Chaos will bring into light aspects of ourselves which we might be unaware of or which we don’t make much time for. These parts of ourselves might be surprising, might even be unsettling, but they demand attention and that we make some room for their expression in our lives.
